Rebate Processor Job Scam

Working from home at a job that makes decent money is an idea situation for many people. With so many people looking to look at home, there are also a lot of people creating work from home scams. It can be very difficult sometimes to tell the scams from the real opportunities. Here is a review of one scam to avoid.

The Scam

There are a number of companies out there that claim that they will set you up from home with a job processing rebates. They say that this job is a commission based job that you can amazingly earn $15 for every completed rebate. They also claim that your job is secure because there is plenty of work to go around. This sounds great, right? Maybe not so much.

This is a scheme that the majority of data entry – work from home jobs use. To start off, you have to pay a ridiculous fee to obtain some sort of membership. After paying this fee, you don’t get any lists of business that want you to process their rebates. All the scammers tell you to do is to start marketing digital or other types of products and offer a rebate for them.

The other catch is that you have to advertise your rebates on your own. Advertising on major websites and search engines can get very expensive. You should be prepared to invest at least a couple hundred dollars in this type of advertising. With this type of advertising, you will most likely be required to pay about a dollar per click on your add. That can add up especially if people are clicking and not buying.

It is possible to make money with this job, but you are investing a lot of money to begin with and may not see any return for a long while.

Home Office Must Have’s

It can be difficult working from home sometimes. There are distractions and all sorts of reasons not to get your work done. There are also people who may think that home based business aren’t as good because they don’t have all of the stuff that office based businesses have.

To ensure that you are productive at home and that you can keep up with other businesses, here are a few things I think are necessary for your home office.

A Work Phone

If you are not someone who likes to answer work phone calls or requests, it is necessary for you to have a work phone or separate land line. This way you can separate your work from your personal life – at least as much as you can. I mean, you are working at home.

This will also avoid your children answering your work calls and telling the potential client that you are in the bathroom and will have to call them back later, or not taking a message from important clients at all.

Fast Internet

Dial-up just doesn’t cut it anymore… I’m not sure if that even exists anymore. Having internet that can help you speedily make transactions and download/upload documents can make doing business a breeze. It does not look very good when your client calls you to talk about a document that they just sent you and it takes you five minutes to download it.

Organization

It is easy (because you are just at home) to let your home office get a little more cluttered than you would an “at work” office”. Clients don’t come in and out of your office and nobody but you really goes in there. Being organized can help improve your productivity and keep track of business transactions more easily. It will not look good if you can’t find the important document or receipt you need for your next business meeting.

Tips For Productivity

Working from home can be a difficult task. There are distractions everywhere and most likely a thousand things you would rather be doing. It takes discipline to be productive at the office, but even more to be productive in your home office.

Here are a few tips to help you cut down on the distractions and up the productivity.

Get Dressed

One of the perks of working from home means that there is no dress code and you get to wear whatever you want. Some people find it easier if they at least get dressed for work rather than wearing their pajamas all day.

This can help you feel more professional and may help you feel like you are actually at work rather than at home. This may be all the encouragement you need to get those last few things done on your work to-do list.

Reduce Clutter

If last night’s dinner dishes are cluttering up your desk, get rid of them. Move your children’s stuffed animals back to their room and move the unfolded laundry into another room at least.

This excess clutter in your office can become very distracting (“I really should fold that laundry”) and make it difficult to focus (“Dinner last night really was good”). Clearing up your work space will allow you to focus and get more work done.

Set Goals

It is very easy, especially when you are your own boss working at home, to put things off until tomorrow. You get distracted with other less important things around the house making your work come second.

If you have a list of things that needs to get done that day, it will be easier to track how productive you are and to put off those other less important things because you “just have to get this done first.”

Get Busy!

Creating the best working environment is critical to your productivity in your home office. Where distractions and chaos sometimes abound, your office needs to be a place of order and… well… work

Picking A Product

You see infomercials and advertisements everywhere. Some of those products just make you laugh and ask the question “who, in their right mind, would buy such a product?” Don’t get stuck in this position. Don’t be stuck with a product of business that nobody wants. There are many questions that you must ask yourself before starting a successful home business. Here is a look at a few.

What Kinds of products do you like to use?

This may sound like a silly question, but it may save you from boredom. Chances are that most people don’t like their job. There are only a seldom few that actually enjoy going to work. Why create a business for yourself that you do not enjoy. You have the choice to potentially enjoy your job – choose a business that will allow you to enjoy what you do every day.

Who, in their right mind, would buy such a product?”

This is actually a very important question to ask yourself before choosing to sell a product. Just because you come up with the idea, doesn’t mean that it’s a good one. Just because your mom told you it was a product that others would buy, doesn’t mean that they actually would buy it.

Try to appeal to the masses. If you have a product that you can see only a few people benefiting from, chances are that only a few people will be buying your product.

Are you passionate about this product?

If you aren’t passionate about bringing this product to market, chances are that it will never get there. You need to really want this product to get out there so you will be motivated to push it out there. There are going to be roadblocks at every turn and you need to be up for the detour.

Business Networking

“It’s all in who you know, not in what you know.” You hear this statement all the time, but what does it really mean? It meant that you have to know other successful, important people to help you become important and successful yourself. The real question is how do you get to know other successful and important people? It’s called business networking.

Tips for Successful Business Networking

Have confidence in yourself. Nobody wants to start a business with someone who isn’t confident in their abilities. If you aren’t confident of your business strategy, product, or abilities, why should they? Even if you aren’t confident in yourself, act like you are. A smile and a firm handshake can go a long way in a networking meeting. Look people in the eyes and be prepared.

Don’t miss any opportunities. Every opportunity to meet someone new is another potential business opportunity. You never know which business relationships may lead to future successes.

Don’t burn any bridges. You never know when you may need to call on someone for some business advice or some other kind of help. Just because you are finished with one project or business, doesn’t mean that you won’t need their help again. Leave every business transaction with good feelings. Past business partners and customers are often your best referral sources.

Be careful what you post on personal social networking sites. You may be surprised at the number of employers that check your personal networking sites. They want to know what kind of person you are outside of the office. If they find inappropriate posts or affiliations, they may not want to associate with you, even in a business setting.

Home Business Tips: Do It Right

Home Based Business
Life was so much simpler when you were in school. In high school, you were usually out of class by 4 at the latest. In college, you could choose when you went to class and how many classes you took. When any holidays came around, you got days or even weeks off. Professors cancelled class on a regular basis.

Now you have to work all the time. If you’re lucky, you get an 8-5 weekday job. Maybe you’re not so lucky and have to work the graveyard shift or on weekends.

Do you miss the flexibility? The long holidays? Spending more time with friends and family? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you have a great reason to start a home based business.

In theory, starting a business sounds like a good idea; but if you don’t do it right, it could turn out to be a nightmare. On the other hand, if you do it right, it could be the key that unlocks the door to happiness and success.

Are you ready?

Starting a business at home is a big commitment. It will take a lot of time and work to get it going. There are several online tools that can help you decide if you are ready to start a business at home.

The Small Business Administration has created an assessment tool that help you decide if you are ready based on your characteristics, skills, and experience.

Additionally, several iphone apps have been created to make business on-the-go more feasible. One of the main reasons you’d like to work from home is to have more freedom right? Now with iphone apps like Pages, Numbers, Quickoffice Pro, Keynote, and many more your business can be more effective and efficient than ever.

Don’t have an iphone to take advantage of these at-home business apps? iphonelox can help as they’ve created iphone jailbreak software to safely access a new or used iphone using any service plan.

Using the home business assessment tool and helpful iphone business apps some important questions to ask yourself are:

• Can I live and work in the same place?
• What adjustments will I have to make?
• How much will it cost?
• What positive and negative effects will it have on my family?
• What will I do if the business seems to be failing?

Choosing a Business

Once you’ve decided that you are ready, you’ll need to pick a product or service.

This is one of the more difficult aspects of starting a home based business. If you make the wrong choice, your business may fail before it even starts.

Pick something that you are good at and that you enjoy doing. It also needs to be something that other people will be interested in. Does your business fill a need? Can you stand up to the competition? How much money will people be willing to pay for your services or products?

Ready, Set, Go

If only starting a business was as easy as starting a race. Although it isn’t easy, starting a business can make you a winner. There are a lot of things to know and remember.

Read books about entrepreneurship and business management. It might be a good idea to take some business classes too. Read and follow these 10 steps to starting a business.

Talk to successful entrepreneurs and small business owners. They experienced failure and made mistakes and somehow worked through it. If you learn from them, you may not have to experience the same mistakes.

When you think back on your school years, it’s easy to remember the good things like holidays and vacations. Do you also remember the tests, homework, cramming, and difficult teachers? A home based business will take a lot of work and cause you some frustration. If you do it for the right reasons; pick the right business; and talk to the right people, your home based business could turn out to be the best thing you’ve ever done.
